We are fast approaching the holiday season, and that tends to also mean entertaining. Having friends or family over to celebrate is a lot of fun, but it’s also a responsibility. You want your home to be spick and span for your guests, but starting major repairs would throw your plans into disarray. So, here are some updates you can and should undertake to make your hosting a success:

  1. Make sure your entryway is well-lit – You don’t want your guests to trip on their way into your home. So make sure your exterior lights are in working order or install new ones.
  2. Give your floors a thorough clean – Remember, if you have carpets, they will need to dry after a cleaning.
  3. De-grime your bathroom – Spray hydrogen peroxide onto grimy grout, leave it for around 10 minutes and then wipe it off.
  4. Make sure all your kitchen appliances are in full working order – Check stove burners, adjust fridge/freezer temperature, clean your dishwasher, etc.
  5. Prepare for children – If children will be among your guests, make sure everything is ready for them, too. Prepare a changing area for young children and some distractions for children of all ages.

Brandy is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix with a serious love for belly rubs, fetch, and being your constant shadow. She’s sweet, affectionate, and always ready to flop over for tummy time! This big, bouncy girl handles beautifully and is incredibly people-oriented—so much so that being left alone makes her sad. She will not hesitate to vocalize when she feels lonely or may try to find an escape route to get to her people. Because of this, she’d thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to shower her with attention and keep her company. Brandy is easily excitable and can be jumpy when making new friends with people, so she’s best suited to a home without kids. She knows “sit” and “drop it,” has a cute little auto-sit when she wants something, and will gently place her toys at your feet for fetch (which she LOVES and doesn’t destroy—bonus!). Brandy also insists on being the one and only furry royalty in your life. She doesn’t want to share her humans, her home, or her toys—so no other pets, please! She’s ready to rule her kingdom solo as the Queen Bee she knows she is. If you’ve got a secure yard, a good throwing arm, and room in your heart for a one-dog show, Brandy just might be your perfect match. Check out LAPS here for more adoptables .

Langley's growth may slow down as a result of changing immigration rules, but it is still expected to have more than 280,000 residents by 2051, according to recent Metro Vancouver growth estimates. The report, by the Metro Vancouver Regional District's regional planning committee, was released earlier this month and has three growth scenarios – low, medium, and high. As of 2024, Metro Vancouver estimated Langley City had 35,316 residents, and the Township had 162,926, for a total of 198,242. 👉 More Details Here
